What a thrilling match to watch! Mildenhall U10s battled it out against Royston Town FC in an intense and well-matched game. There was no shortage of effort, skill, and team spirit – and what a performance from Charlie, who was named Player of the Match for his commanding defensive display. 👏

The first half saw a strong start from Mildenhall, with Charlie at the heart of the defence, making some key tackles and distributing the ball with precision. Faheem followed up with a brilliant tackle and quick footwork that got the crowd on their feet. Rhian came close with a powerful shot that narrowly missed the target, and Oscar linked up well with Kieran in midfield. Despite some great play in the final third, the lads couldn’t quite find the back of the net in the first half.

After the break, Royston were first to strike, taking advantage of a quick move. But Mildenhall responded brilliantly, showing real determination. A great team effort saw the ball worked down the pitch, with Rory supplying a perfect assist for Rhian, who calmly slotted home the equaliser in the 48th minute. From there, the lads pushed on with attacking intent – Rhian whipped in a lovely cross, the midfield worked tirelessly to create space, and Charlie stayed rock-solid in defence to keep Royston at bay. Barney was kept busy in goal but rose to the challenge, making some crucial saves.

It was a fantastic performance full of promise, teamwork, and resilience. The boys should be proud of how they dug deep against strong opposition – another step forward as the season builds.

The coaches were proud of the way the team fought for every minute of the match, and it was a great result to build on.
