U13’s Match report

Our first league game took us away to Steeple Bumpstead on a mild Saturday morning. The match kicked off and both teams were definitely ready for the new season but both teams took the first 10minutes to settle in and to find their stride. Mildenhall settled first and applied pressure to their defence with several attempts on goal. It took another 10minutes for the deadlock to break with a good goal for Kam, Mildenhall had taken the lead 1-0.

We continued to press and gained a second goal, 2-0. Just before halftime we got caught on the counter and the home team gained one back.

The second half continued in a similar manner, both teams created chances, Mildenhall passed the ball well and pressed but the opposition found a gap and made it count, 2-2.

A well taken set piece led to a 3rd goal by Mildenhall. The home team however fought back to get a late goal and bring the game level to 3-3 and that’s how the game finished.

Congratulations to Max for Player of the day, a strong performance in midfield and energy to keep the ball moving around and away from the opposition.

A determined effort and a solid start by the whole team who look set to only get stronger.
