Match report U13’s

The first home game of the season on the new grass pitch at the HUB was on an overcast and windy morning.

The boys were all up for it again and came ready and fired up.

Both teams settled in early and moved the ball about but neither had any real chance even though Mildenhall had the wind behind them.

Around the 15th minute Mildenhall were awarded a free kick outside the box on the right hand side of the pitch, well with in striking distance, the ball flew in and bounced around the penalty box for what seemed ages, no one could clear the box but eventually our striker got lucky and found the back of the net, 1-0 to Mildenhall.

No more than 5 minutes later and another free kick to Mildenhall in the same place, this time however there was a small deflection of a defender and back into the back of the net, 2-0.

The opposition kept fighting and got one back and the pressure was back on, another goal before half time meant we went into the break 3-1 up.

The second half started of even but with their tails up from the first half and the boys really started enjoying their football, simple passes in triangles and moving the ball about meant they created more scoring opportunities. The opposition however still fought hard and put up a good challenge so the team had to stay switched on.

Today we saw our player of the match,Kam, also score 4 goals, he kept running and positive no matter where he was asked to play.

A good win today and score line 7-2, the team were strong throughout and remained switched on.
