Writer's picture: s2kerrs2kerr

19/10/24 3pm kickoff

Attendance: 194

Goals: Alex Hernandez 65’ (Tilbury)

Tilbury started the first half with the ball, with both teams equal in possession and chances.

Mildenhall showed some good work in the opponent's half early in the game and made an

excellent clearance on the goal line to prevent Tilbury getting an early goal. In the minutes

shortly afterwards Mildenhall got a throw-in in the final 3rd which was passed around the box

before being shot just wide of goal. By the 27th minute either team had had no real shot on

target and Tilbury were enjoying the majority of possession. Jake Chambers-Shaw for

Mildenhall showed good skill with the ball and Callum Anderson had a good shot on goal but

just missed the goal. There was a foul on a Mildenhall player near the bench which caused

the teams to have a bit of an argument with the coaches also getting involved, a Mildenhall

and Tilbury player were both shown a yellow card but the game continued as normal. The

teams went in at half time 0-0 with Mildenhall showing good work in the box and also

showing some good defensive action in their own half.

The second half started and Tilbury came out a lot stronger with the majority of the

possession. A lot of the ball was in Mildenhall’s half and Tilbury had a lot of missed chances

before scoring in the 65th minute. The ball got played into the box and shot into the top of

the net by Alex Hernandez. After the goal Tilbury had complete control of the game, whilst

Mildenhall were playing well they couldn’t get the ball in the back of the net yet defended

well enough to ensure Tilbury couldn’t get a second goal. The match ended 1-0 to Tilbury.
