Charlene has been at it again ahead of tomorrow’s FA Trophy game against Brightlingsea Regent at The Riverside Stadium and produced her chatter - have a read below -
‘’We welcome Brightlingsea Regent to the Riverside stadium today for their first visit since the 2013/14 season, their sole season in the Eastern Counties Premier League, where the result was a 2-0 win to the Hall. In fact we were only one of 4 clubs to beat Brightlingsea that season, as they gained promotion to the Isthmian League after finishing runners up to Hadleigh, who incidentally did not take promotion. The most recent encounter between the two clubs was just two years ago, when Brightlingsea ran out comfortable winners 3-0 in an FA Cup encounter. Its amazing the the things I can find out on the internet.
We welcome Brightlingsea Regent's officials, players, management and supporters back to Mildenhall, and I sure that you will see a hard fought game, and enjoy the great atmosphere at the Hall.
Last week, we had a lovely afternoon here at the Riverside, firstly with the appreciation of Lol Houghton and then the return to Mildenhall of our old friend Steve 'OD' O'Donoghue. it was a great indication of what the Hall family is all about, and the warmth exuded by everybody was good for the heart. We need some good things to happen to take our minds off the apparent madness running through the country now. The result did not reflect the play, as is often the case, and we were unlucky to not take something from the match, but that's the game. They took their chances, we didn't. This is all information I have gleaned from reports.
Bill is away this week but hopefully, the ban will soon be served, and I can get back to normal on Saturdays myself. I can't wait for him to come staggering into the house after being on it for three hours at the club, looking for his dinner, then seeing him on the recliner, snoring his head off by 8.30. Lovely...that's my Saturday's to come. Well that's not every Saturday, but certainly quite a few. I think Bill may be off to Wolverhampton races today to see one of his horses, although I know he will be checking his Football Web Pages constantly. And he'll probably still be asleep in the chair by 9.00.
I am signing off now, as I need to save some words for the next match at home, Tuesday night versus Gorleston.
Bye for now.
Charlene.’’
