The boys kicked off their new league campaign in style with a game against waterbeach FC – and what a performance it was! 👏⚽️
From the first whistle, waterbeach showed they was up for this game with a very strong opening 7/8 mins taking the game to Mildenhall some strong defending from Charlie and Kieran plus Oscar holding the midfield and Liam in fine form in goal kept them out Mildenhall began to get a foot hold in the game with James c and Rhian both beating their full backs a few times , Oscar fed the ball in to Rory up top his pass to Rhain was inch perfect for Rhian to run on to and dink the ball over over the goal keeper GOAL, Mildenhall now had a foot hold in the game creating lots of opportunity’s with both wingers causing waterbeach lots of problems Charlie had a kick in just inside the town half he played it quickly to Rhian who went a amazing run beating 3 players before slotting into the bottom corner GOAL a great first quarter against a well drilled waterbeach ,
2nd quarter and waterbeach again started strong liam with 3 fine saves Liam collected the ball with Quick throw out to Rhian on the half way line off he went on a mazy run and was brought. Down by the waterbeach midfielder he dusted him self down 25 yards from goal to hit a rocket of a free kick to make it a hatrick GOAL . Rory was working his socks off for the team and went close the keeper was beaten the ball going just wide
3rd quarter was slower it had to be after the end to end game that we had witnessed James p was on the right wing James c on the left both working hard Jack solid at the back so composed on the ball and Maliki playing up front running and causing probs for the waterbeach back line , James p picked the ball up shifted it whipped the ball in only for the waterbeach defender to put though his own net GOAL
4th quarter James c was in full flow confidence was growing HALL was getting on the ball moving it left and right maybe HALL we was a little to confident pouring forward looking for more goals waterbeach picked us off scoring a goal they deserved with 9 mins remaining and waterbeach was going for it , A clumsy challenge resulted in a penalty to waterbeach Liam its over to you and boy did he follow up a fine goalkeeping display with a great penalty save
ANDY AND LOZ both happy with the performance from the team giving man of the match to the whole team and rightly so
